Video is one of my primary epistemic media.
Through moving images, I investigate how knowing unfolds through bodies, materials, environments, technologies, and other-than-human encounters. The works collected here include scholarly visual studies, exhibited artworks, curatorial experiments, and studio inquiries. Rather than illustrating research, they are part of the research itself.
Across these works runs a long-standing interest in what I now call more-than-human epistemics: how animals, materials, technologies, objects, and environments participate in practices of sensing, attention, relation, and knowing. Rabbits, flies, parasites, dogs, pigeons, angels, back yards, nylon string and speculative figures all become collaborators in thinking differently about how knowledge emerges.
The videos document an evolving visual research practice that continues to inform the research programme of Ontoepistemic Design.
