My video work, “Environmental Performance II: Waiting for the Bunny,” is screened for ArtSpace Fyn/Kunstrum Fyn during the Open Video XVI event in October 2023.

Filmed in the nature-culture woods in Denmark, the video mediates emergent happenings in the comings and goings of ants, birds, wind, trees, sun, shade and clouds. These non-human actors dynamically move on, across and behind semi-translucent, semi-opaque surfaces; infinity mirror-glass plates alternating as mediator and intermediary.

“Environmental Performance” is a continuation of my inquiry into how we as human beings understand and relate to our fellow co-species and surroundings.
The project aligns with my scholarly work on environmental performance, exploring how natural elements intermingle with mediated experiences . You can read more about my research on Environmental Performance in this article, and view a related video here.
The work also provides an opportunity to think about our relationship to what we previously have known as nature – to what I suggest we call ‘postnature’ or ‘postnatural environments’. Read more here: Postnatural Environments
